Bravely Default

This game has made me so happy. It really has. I have been searching for forever looking for a game with as much adventure as this game portrays. Well, thanks to Square Enix, Bravely Default is the game that I have had the chance of playing and really enjoying as of late. Me and my boyfriend went and purchased it Saturday. We haven't been able to put the game down. The graphics are beautiful and the background music is amazing. Best of all the characters are amazing. You get the feel of each character. The acting of the characters in English is...pretty bad. I can handle all three of the other characters, but the person that acts as Agnes is just horrible. She has the same voice throughout the game. There isn't any emotion or anything in her voice. She had emotion one time, and that was when her friend Olivia died protecting her. Other than that though, she is stone cold and just horrible as a voice character. But, if you put the game in Japanese, you find that all the characters sound really good and the voice actors are doing a really good job. I just can't stand going through a sad scene and the character seems to not have any remorse or anything. Makes the character look really bad. Anyway though, this game is made real easy for every age. Though, I found myself having to move the difficulty settings from normal to easy. My boyfriend on the other hand, didn't move it and continues through the game challenging every monster that comes in his path. I have to applaud his efforts. I couldn't keep up with him on normal. It was just to difficult for me. I would rather hear the story than fight all day :). You can change the difficulty settings at anytime throughout the game, and also change the encounter rate of monsters. I found myself doing this as well. I put it to the point where I wouldn't encounter monsters at all. Why? Because sometimes my party is just really powerful and they can kill the monsters in no time. I'm usually trying to get somewhere, seeing that the game will take you back and forth to towns a lot.

After playing the game for a while, I have come to find myself loving Edea. She is just so cute. While I was siding towards Agnes through most of the game, I changed my mind after seeing how cold hearted Agnes was toward her fellow team mates and the people around her. Edea is a traitor to her people, and she is struggling to find out about all the wrong that her people have come to do. She has been fed lies about the vestal, and has come to see the truth of the world. Edea is quite funny and entertaining. She shows this strong sense of justice and also a strong sense of stubbornness. She is quite pretty and she looks good with a ton of the job classes that the game gives to you.

Agnes, the wind vestal, is  supposed to go and save the world. She is traveling the world with her fellow companions. She, at first, wanted to make the journey on her own. She cares about a lot of people and doesn't want to see anyone get hurt or have to suffer. She tries her best to make sure that the world is at peace, while also doing her job. Through the game, she has this sense about her that she wants to help everyone, but also get to the crystals and take care of her mission. When her friend, Olivia, died protecting her, she found herself changed, at least to me. She had went from this shy, warm-hearted person, to this mean and cold person that was only looking toward getting the crystals. She even started turning towards Edea, blaming her for Olivia's death because Edea was once on the bad side. The part that made me just so done with Agnes, was the part where they were in Hartschild, and the people were asking them for help. Pretty much begging them for their assistance, but Agnes wouldn't hear it. Even though they were in a war AGAINST the bad guys, she would not see to them. She said she was only going to get the crystal, and then after that they were leaving. She just pretty much left them up to their own fate. Then, they team came to learn that they had children captive, and she wouldn't move a muscle to help. Tiz was the one that stepped up and agreed to help, much to Agnes dismay. They rescued all of the children, and even went back to rescue the kid that was linked to fire vestal. Upon learning that he was linked to the fire vestal AND that he knew a way into the temple, Agnes wanted to talk to him and know everything that he had to know. She didn't even want to let him get any rest. I was like, this has got to be the most heartless person I have ever seen. A witch in sheep's clothing. Don't you agree?

Tiz had suffered a great loss. His hometown, and everyone that he ever knew was swallowed up by a big chasm. Tiz couldn't even save his brother, Til. When he met Agnes, she told him that restoring the crystals should make the hole go away, and so he took it upon himself to follow her upon her journey, wherever it may take them. He has followed her everywhere and made sure that no harm has come to her. Meeting new companions, he has seemed to find a family through them to me. The fact that he likes Agnes is brought up throughout the game by his friend Ringabell. Though, he tends to deny it, his face can't deny much. Him and Agnes, being so simple, kinda tends to make this game quite entertaining. Edea and Ringabell aren't quite as simple as they are, seeing that they are fancy and like to look nice and know quite a bit about things of the world, while Tiz and Agnes tend to only know things about the life that they have lived. They know nothing of the outside world.

Ringabell is more of the comic relief of the game. He goes on and on about girls and fashion. He has no memory of anything that happened in his past, and only has a book that tells the future to go off of. He uses the book throughout the game, to keep the team on track and help them when they don't know what to do in a situation. In the beginning of the game, he tends to use the book quite a lot. As the game progresses, however, we find him pulling the book out less and less.

That's the run through of the characters. The job classes on the game are amazing. The outfits that you wear with the different classes are amazing, and you find yourself sifting through many of the classes trying to make a good team. You can choose two classes, kinda. One class as your main class that you want to level up, and the sub class that you use when you need it. There are some very good combos that I have had the chance to try out myself. Getting all of the classes is a feat to be tried. I have gotten most of them, on my way to get the others.

These are just two of the classes that they have. I do believe, but im not quite sure that the one on the top is a vampire...maybe...I haven't gotten to that one. The one on the bottom is the thief though for sure. I for one want the ninja.

I plan on having Edea be my Ninja with a sub class of sword master or Spell master. I think that would be the best. The Sword master is also stuck on my mind too though, since they are very good at counter attacking. Like I said though, you have to try different things til you find something that works for you. I have found that the Ranger is a very good class to have with you. They take out a bunch of damage. They're literally the only people that you need on your team. Tiz is my Ranger, and he attacks first and gets to do things first as well, and always kills any monster in the first round of battle. So, do get you a ranger if you don't have one already.

Well, that's all that I have to tell about the game. You go around trying to save the world by cleansing the crystals. It might not sound like a good game, but this is a really good game that I haven't been able to put down since I got it. It's a very addicting game and if you haven't went and purchased it, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!?!?!?

Hana Yamata(manga)

This is a cool manga. I only was able to read the first chapter but from the first chapter, I can tell this would be a pretty cool manga. A girl that desperately wants to leave her world, and venture into the world of fairy tales. Pretty much, anywhere that isn't reality pretty much. Can you blame her though? Even I wish something as cool as a fairy dancing out of the sky would happen to me to spice up my boring life. Things in reality just aren't as cool as things in the fantasy world. Well, our main character, Naru, just loves fairy tales and just can't get enough of them. Everyone around her continues to tell her that she needs to get her head out of the books and start thinking about her future. Well, she had seen a fairy dancing in the night and thought that she was so beautiful and so amazing. She tried to tell her best friend about her, but of course she wouldn't believe her. So, when her friend leaves and leaves her with something to think about. Like the fact that she was doing something that she had wanted to do in life and Naru was stuck with nothing in life. Naru, walking home in thought, saw the fairy dancing again. Of course she did what any person would in her situation...she chased after her. The fairy said that she could take her to a better world, if she would only dance with her. What would you do? What do you dream of doing? Is reality enough for you? Reality isn't enough for me. Things in reality just aren't good enough. Why can't people here have powers? Why can't things be more interesting. All we end up doing is the same thing as everyone in life. Sure, other people that are more fortunate can buy better things and get better jobs, but in the end, were all just redoing the same cycle. Going to school to get an education, getting a job so that we can buy things and move out on our own, getting married and having children, dying when were old. That's the basic cycle that everyone continues to do. Naru decided to take it to extremes. She found an out. If only anime was really. If only people could fall in love as they do in these mangas. I wouldn't have to go to manga or anime to read about something so amazing such as love. I would be able to live it right here in my own life.

Keep Your Heart Closed (manga)(YURI)(MATURE)

This story was okay. It was more of a manga just to show that they do it, or whatever you want to call it. That's the one thing that they did the most of in this manga. They did tell how they met and it did keep me wanting to read. So as I was reading, I started coming towards the end...that's where things really got weird because I didn't quite comprehend anything that was going on at all. Everything was all crazy. They were talking abut a dolphin and things just got really wordy and confusing. Then all of a sudden they were saying that they loved each other. They are cousins to begin with and they have been together for a while. The dark haired girl just follows the other girl around pretty much, and just gives her pleasure when she wants it. While I was reading this manga, I couldn't understand exactly what they liked about each other, other than the pleasure that they gave to the other. It was weird. But I won't say not to read this manga. It's okay. There isn't really a plot in this book either. So I can't really tell much about it.

Unfaithful Woman (MATURE)(YURI)

This manga is about two girls, a school girl and a teacher. The title doesn't give any justice to the manga though. Why? Because the Manga is called Unfaithful Woman, yet the only thing that was unfaithful was the fact that sometimes the teacher thinks of her lover as another woman. That was the only thing that was unfaithful about this manga. The other thing that I want to acknowledge in this is the fact that the manga didn't really even tell us anything about how they met. Sure, they met on the roof, but what else. Where is the story. There wasn't a story. There were so many things that were out of this that I can't even tell you what this manga is about. The only thing that I know for sure is that they are in love with each other. There isn't a story and nothing to tell about their relationship. The teacher was crying on the roof and her lover never asked why or anything. It just happened. Was that a flashback, or was that the present time? Who wouldn't ask the person that they love what is wrong? Who wouldn't??? This manga is just a sex manga. That's all this is.

Saiteihen no Otoko(MATURE)

This book is rated mature, only for the fact that he sniffs panties and the fact of the matter that there is also a lot of blood and stuff of that matter. Not to also forget that sometimes they do tend to curse I believe. Well, anyway, I just finished reading this book. It was topped on the most popular list so I decided to see what it was that was so popular about this book. To tell you bluntly...there is nothing that piqued my interest, other than the fact that once I started reading I couldn't really stop because I had went to far into the book and didn't want to stop halfway into the book. There were so many things that I was left wondering. Like, where in the world did these crazy demon people even come from? My whole thing is this. In the beginning when he was talking to the Haruka imposter demon girl. She down right told him that she was a demon and even asked if he was still going to go with the plans. He agreed and upon agreeing, he pretty much brought his fate down upon himself. The main character, Murai, is such a lowly character. First of all, this book is about not becoming a scumbag loser. There are demons in this book that turn people from being scumbags into like better people I guess. That's the whole plot of the story in a nut shell right there. Not to become a scumbag is the main point, while the demons are just extra to the story to make things interesting. Well, in the end our character becomes a scumbag loser unknowingly pretty much. To me, I felt as though he felt as if he was a hero and was saving everyone from these demons that were walking the streets pretending to be people that they weren't. But in actually, he just turned into a scumbag. Is that a reason to go around killing people when they haven't really did anything? At least they didn't do anything that he could really prove to anyone. So he ended up killing people and even killing his dad. Slowly, but surely. Then, he woke up and everything was almost as if it was all just a figment of his imagination. Only to turn out that his dad had turned into one of those demon things. Murai, took it upon himself to save the woman that he was about to eat, only to be ridiculed and told that he was the lowest of low. Shows what anyone would do for love pretty much right?

The second thing about this book that made left me in wonder, and im sure that left everyone else in wonder as well was this one simple question: What are these demons? The book never tells us what they are or even who they are. It doesn't even tell where they came from. Also, it doesn't specify how they even operate. These demons are just there and just change people. HOW!?!?!?!? How do these things even happen? What is up with that!? This book was so stupid and I just can't believe that I wasted my time with this manga. Sigh...please don't read this book if you can help it. Though, if you don't believe me and think that this book sounds pretty interesting, go ahead and read it for yourself. Don't let me stop you. For those of you that don't want to waste your time dealing with lame books...I don't suggest reading this manga at all.

Hidden Meaning (Manga) MATURE

This manga is...very graphic. So this is definitely not for children. If you are reading this for the thrill of seeing something happen, then you have definitely come to the right place. In this manga It's about an office lady, and a writer. To be totally honest about this manga...I couldn't tell what the heck was going on. They were sitting there talking all professional like, then all of a sudden they started doing it while STILL talking all professional like. I was like whoa, already and this is only the second page pretty much. Anyway though, as I continue, things just continue to escalate until their fully doing it and everything. What is this manga about? A writer that keeps putting the office lady from real life into the stories. She asks to stop because she doesn't want anyone at the office to find out what they have between them. I didn't really get a name from the characters, and I also can't tell you anything about the characters other than the fact that there is a writer and office lady. The fact that I couldn't even tell if the writer was a girl or boy...that's pretty bad. I think it was a girl...but not entirely sure to be honest. If any of you reading this knows and decides to read this manga, comment and let me know what you think. There isn't really a plot in this story either. It's just a manga that wants to show two people doing it really. That's the whole plot of the story because everything else in the story is just down right pointless. I recommend this for those people that just want to see some action...but if your reading this to read about a love scene or something...go somewhere else.

Hajimete, Kanojo to. (YURI) MATURE

This manga was about two women. Sarina, the brown haired woman, and Sumi, the yellow haired woman. They are both in love, but they have a casual relationship. They don't have sex, and Sumi comes and goes when she pleases. Sarina is always at home by herself until Sumi decides that she will come back from where ever she has decided to go to. Sumi finally decides to take their relationship further and Sarina decides that she wants to go and travel the world with Sumi.
That was the whole plot of the story. It was lacking points in the manga, but other than that, this manga was okay. It could have been better but I didn't really care for it that much to be honest. It wasn't very good. The art was very cute and things like that. It's just that they only gave a little information about how they met. It only really talked about Sumi, and not really much on Sarina. If your going to read this for the "sex" then you should go somewhere else. They only really showed them naked, nothing else really. The whole relationship thing didn't even fulfill my wanting to feel all lovey dovey over someone....Nope...I just felt as though I was reading a book. There was also the point that the characters didn't really fulfill the reader. You don't even remember them really after reading the story. So yeah, I don't really recommend this book to anyone really.
