Elfen Lied (manga) and anime

Elfen Lied has to be one of the greatest anime I have ever seen and read. I only had to read it because I couldn't quite watch it because I wasn't old enough at that time. But, I got the chance to watch it and see the anime. :) Let me tell you, this is something that everyone must have the chance to see. The characters are usually naked sometimes. Most of the time through the anime. ;) I can tell you that reading the manga and watching the anime is pretty much the same effect. You don't get to hear the singing that she does, but I felt like while I was reading the manga, I was also watching the anime. That's just how great Elfen Lied is. It drags you in, and makes you want more. It is really gory, however, and wouldn't suggest if for people that don't have a good hardcore stomach that can take things like that, because Elfen Lied requires you to have a lot of things. Nyu, who is the kinder more innocent side of Lucy, her alternate self, is always with Kouta. She ended up on a beach after she escaped and lost all sense of knowing how to talk and everything of that concept. Kouta took her in and cares for her because she can't care for herself.

The coolest thing in this manga is that fact that Lucy has these cool powers. All the people that are like her has these powers, but the thing is that the hands that they have are invisible. Lucy has the most powerful hands and they can reach very very far, unlike most of the other characters. Lucy has continued to kill and kill more and more people. Why? Because they keep picking a fight with her. It's not like she just straight off kills them either. She always like does something that is going to make it to where they will leave her alone, like cut off a leg or arm, before she decides to go anymore. It's the fact of the matter that, no one ever picks a fight with someone their own size lol.
But why is Lucy so mean? Why does she not put up with anyone? Well, it probably has something to do with her childhood. Let me explain. See a regular childhood for everyone is going to school and enjoying hanging out with friends and being with other people right? Just being with people throughout the day is enough for some people. Well, Lucy would call that a miracle because she couldn't get the same things as we can. Instead, her childhood was much more harsh and crazy.
Lucy had her a cute little puppy at the orphanage that she was assigned to, since her parents left and abandoned her. She didn't tell anyone about the puppy because everyone was shunning her and she knew that if anyone was to find out about its existence that it would only end up getting hurt.

Well, Lucy was soon befriended by a girl. The girl told her that she would keep all of Lucy's secrets forever and never tell a soul. Well, of course that wasn't the case. Tomoo, the boys that were always bullying Lucy, found the dog thanks to the girl. He told the other boys to hold Lucy and he made her watch as he killed her puppy, Lucy's only friend. Lucy, of course, was out of control. She lost it and then found that she had powers. The arms that could help her beat up her classmates. What did she do? Well the only thing she could think to do. Kill them.

That's one dangerous girl. Wonder what the parents are going to say to that :/ Anyway though. Your kinda getting the gist of the show. The thing I found the craziest was the part when she was out with Kouta. Kouta found as when he was a kid. I feel sorry for him too. Probably not the one you would want to meet up with. But he befriended her slowly and she ended up falling in love with him. Kouta lied to Lucy, so as not to hurt her feelings, and said that he was going to a festival with one of his cousins. Kouta told her that it was a boy, so as not to hurt her feelings. But, it did the exact opposite when she saw him and his cousin at the festival together. Lucy ended up killing everyone at the festival except him. Kanae, Kouta's sister saw everything at the festival and tried to tell everyone what had happened, but no one would believe her stories of course because they sounded ridiculous. Well, Lucy was on the train and Kouta was mad at his sister for saying mean things about his friend Lucy. Well, Lucy(which she is being called Kaede. sorry for the short notice. I like her name Lucy though) decides that she doesn't like the fact that she is being mean and saying mean things and decides to handle it.

Pretty swell way of handling things if you ask me. She also killed the father swiftly after that. The only person that she didn't kill was Kouta, because he is her friend, and because I guess that it was an act of mercy. If you ask me though, seeing your sister die in front of you right after you have told her that you hate her for being mean and saying mean things about your friend is kinda harsh. Why? Because now that she is dead, there is no way that Kouta can take that back and he now has to live with the fact that his sister died and the last thing he said to her was that he pretty much hated her. Second thing though, the fact that in the end, if this was supposed to be some act of mercy...it kinda took the mercy out of EVERYTHING! Why? Because of the fact that she just killed his family pretty much and left him as the only survivor AND on top of that he was in a mental hospital for like 3 years pretty much. What do you think about that? But at least she left him alive right. Left him with no one but his best friend and no family. Right. If only everyone showed that kind of mercy this world would be such a better place....NOT!! That's not mercy...That's is just down right brutal. Though I guess to a kid, its okay.
Well. I haven't told much of everything about the show, but know that this show is well worth the watch. You have to see the ending and what all happens between Kouta and Lucy.
